G. Leon Kirkpatrick - Founder/ExecutiveDirector /Music Director                Conductor, Wind Ensemble 

     G. Leon Kirkpatrick received his Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Brevard College. He went on to earn dual Bachelors Degrees in Composition and Conducting from the Hartt School, the University of Hartford and a Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Conducting from the University of Louisville.
 
Mr. Kirkpatrick has served as the Divisional Music Director for the Salvation Army's KY/TN Division, coordinating youth music and music education programs. He has served as a Music Educator for JCPS and the KY School for the Blind.  Mr. Kirkpatrick also held a position with the Louisville Youth Orchestra as Conductor for their Repertory Orchestra.
 
Currently, Mr. Kirkpatrick is Director of Instrumental Activities and Music Education at Bellarmine University.   He conducts the BU Wind Symphony, the BU Chamber Winds, the BU Chamber Orchestra and directs the BU Knights Pep Band. He also teaches Instrumental Conducting as well as the Baroque and Classical section of Music History, a Recital Prep. class and helps coordinate recruitment efforts for the Music Department.
 
Mr. Kirkpatrick is a member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA), the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) and the National Band Association (NBA). Mr. Kirkpatrick serves on the Projects and Publications Committee of the National Band Association.

Mr. Kirkpatrick is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Wind Conducting at the University of Kentucky. He studies conducting with Dr. John 'Cody' Birdwell, Director of Bands at UK.
